The bed was comfortable, and upon request for a larger room, I was given one.

The fact that the DVD player did not work and although a member of staff tried to assist, this was not resolved.

Room was not brilliantly cleaned - sheets and duvet were musty

Location and access to city centre. Plenty of parking. Pleasant room
decor. Excellent breakfast. Cheerful, helpful, reception staff

Small things: miscommunication between website and hotel - booked a twin
for two nights, but given double for one night. Staff quick to rectify
problem, thankfully, as double room tiny! Only one fresh set of towels
on second day, second set not supplied until complained following
morning. Not possible to control bedside lights separately. Bar
expensive. Charged for newspaper not requested.

everything! there was a hotel disco going on under my room on saturday night, so I only got to sleep in the early hours of the morning. plus had to climb stairs with heavy baggage to get to reception.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable, and everything worked well including the bathroom facilities which appeared to have had a recent refit.

It was not possible to control the reading lights separately. This was a problem when my wife wanted to sleep and I wanted to read.

the staff were cheerful and helpful and the decor was lovely

not a dislike but the hotel didn't seem to have a record of the discounted booking price and tried to charge the normal price, it was very quickly sorted when I showed a print out of my booking they immediately changed the price and took a photocopy of my paperwork.

Friendly accommodating staff, excellent standard of room especially cleanliness and comfort. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Parking and easy to find. Only a short taxi ride into the city in the evening.

Group of young children (maybe school trip) up very early running down the corridors shouting and knocking on doors waking us up.
